Dannon came to our team with a high-stakes challenge: create a fun, memorable Super Bowl moment for Oikos Greek Yogurt starring John Stamos — one that could stand out in the most competitive ad break of the year. We pitched several concepts, and the brand moved forward with two for full production: a Super Bowl spot, and a companion piece that ran throughout the larger campaign across major sporting events. Together, the two films gave Oikos a comedic one-two punch built around the brand's biggest star. In "The Tease," John Stamos sets the stage for a steamy moment with a love interest, leaning into every ounce of the charm audiences expect from him — only for the buildup to take a perfectly timed comedic detour. The spot plays with viewer expectations from the first frame, then delivers a punchline that lands exactly where Oikos wanted it to: squarely in the cultural conversation. In "Seeing John Stamos," women discover that eating Oikos Greek Yogurt has an unexpected side effect — the next person they see temporarily transforms into Stamos himself. The spot opens on two wives chatting in the kitchen when one's out-of-shape husband strolls in wearing a speedo and a bad sunburn. A few quick spoonfuls of Oikos later, he's been replaced by a considerably more eye-pleasing Stamos. Two setups, one shared brand truth: with Oikos, things rarely turn out the way you expect. In collaboration with Y&R, our team produced both spots end to end — directing, shooting, and editing — leaning into the comedic timing and tongue-in-cheek charm that made the campaign land. The tone is playful, self-aware, and built for the Super Bowl stage, with punchlines tuned to pay off in a single beat. Every casting, performance, and pacing choice across both films was crafted to make Stamos's signature charm the engine of the joke and Oikos the unmistakable center of the story.
The result? "The Tease" landed in the top 10 ads of the 2014 Super Bowl, and the companion spot carried the campaign forward across major sporting events — earning significant attention for Dannon and helping cement Oikos Greek Yogurt's place in the cultural conversation.
